Software Engineer — SAP

Jan 2021 — present

APIs and Frontend Solutions — Played a key role in an AI-driven SAP guidance solution, using TypeScript to build APIs and optimize data ingestion workflows for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures running on SAP AI Core. Designed scalable APIs with Python Flask, integrating HANA DB with SQLAlchemy for database version control. Contributed to frontend work with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and enhanced SAP chatbot capabilities with Java Spring.

Automated Migration — Developed automation scripts for asynchronous filesystem migration using Python, AzCopy, rsync and asyncio. Tested extensively on OpenSUSE virtual machines and validated performance with Azure Blob Storage.

CI/CD, Kubernetes and DevSecOps — Designed CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and pytest. Streamlined deployments by integrating Docker images from JFrog Artifactory into Kubernetes clusters via Helm. Managed clusters, migrated microservices, configured custom domains and deployed local Redis instances. Incorporated SonarQube, Checkmarx and Vault for security and code quality.

Integration Projects — Led multiple integration projects across cloud and on-prem systems (S/4HANA, ECC, third-party). Used XSLT and Groovy for mapping, and worked with HTTPS, OData, SOAP adapters and SAP Event Mesh.

Community Building — Initiated a Portuguese AI community to share knowledge on Deep Learning, LLMs, RAG and practical use cases.

DevOps Engineering — Worked extensively with Jenkins for CI/CD. Developed and applied bash and Python scripts across multiple VMware clusters to streamline deployments.

Testing and Automation — Transitioned to a testing role, using bash and Python scripting to automate testing. Used JMeter and Robot Framework for quality and performance testing.
